I don't know what to say here this week other than today's page is a milestone, story-wise, and we guarantee that what we have planned for the next two pages will make you cry. If you don't cry, your heart is made of stone.

Well, hang on.
Mar died to power the crystal stabbin' stick, even if she wasn't entirely okay with that. Enceladus died (will die?) holding Magickademon in place so that Cyril could throw the stabbin' stick. Solaris died trying to stab Magickademon, but at least got the stabbin' stick to the top of the tower in time. Deimos kicked the stick into arm's reach of Cyril before he died, and he was a *villain*. Syd, the ambassador, and all those students were killed by Magickademon, so that doesn't count, and frankly Callisto wasn't an important enough character to have died for nothing. Gwynn, Derren, Arwel and the soldier dudes are all still alive, and may not even die at all. So on the whole, *nobody* actually died for nothing. Posted on April 15th, 2013 at 10:46AM

@Dolbsha: There is a shower of blood that seems to be coming from the monster's back, though, so I do think it went all the way through.

Oh, how about this possiblity: all this desperate life magic assault did was empower the demon with Enceladus's life energy. Enceladus dies, demon is stronger, cue massive guilt. That'd be pretty crushing. Posted on April 17th, 2013 at 09:48AM

First thing to mind is that the demon will revert to poor Ariel in its last dying moments for a heart-wrenching goodbye.
