Really excited about the new design!
I had a lot of fun working on the new portraits for the awesome new cast page, and actually wanted to show a couple of the sketches from the process. My sketchwork is pretty messy, and I'm always pretty awed by those artists whose sketches are so expressive and clear. I thought Yegir and Malleck's sketched looked pretty cool though, so here they are!

Hello everyone!
As you can see, there is no new page this week. But, instead, you get a completely updated and newly designed website for the first time in three years! If the site looks wonky, make sure you clear your browser's cache!
You will also notice that we can now post more than one blurb entry on each page! Ira, Tim, and I (Andrew-David) will be posting our own individual thoughts every week from now on :)
Thank you and have an amazing week!

Hello everyone!
For those of you in Canada, happy thanksgiving!
Not much to say besides that. We've been pretty busy working on a couple things, including changes for the Aikonia website! Hopefully we'll be able to talk about them next Monday.
Until then, have a wonderful week!

The problem with the honesty thing is, it's just an assumption when she said "seemed", so yeah I agree with the orc. Posted on October 14th, 2013 at 06:12AM ReplyMattxAus replied:
I'm thinking it would be more like "Don't trust a rich honest man, because an honest man gets exploited, whilst a rich honest man exploits/doesn't give you the whole truth" Posted on October 15th, 2013 at 06:28AMSome guy said:
By the way, Isenthorne is Solaris' surname. Gilius - as in "How did those papers from Gilius lead you all the way out here" from the previous page - is Syd's surname.RELEVANCE! Posted on October 14th, 2013 at 09:33AM Reply

But wasnt Syd an only child, who was then killed and then transmogrified into stone? How was his lineage continued? :| Posted on October 15th, 2013 at 06:25AMAndrew-David replied:
@Mattxaus: At what point did we mention that the lineage was continued? Posted on October 15th, 2013 at 03:13PMMattxAus replied:
I am confused now. I understood the whole "How did those papers from Gilius lead you all the way out here?" (to Lord[?] Gilius' castle?) to mean that they got the papers from someone with Gilius as a last name, leading them on the treasure hunt, and finding the castle in ruins. Of course, maybe Syd's father had a brother whos descendants gave them the story/papers to find the castle... but wouldn't the castle upon Syd's fathers' death have gone onto the nearest heir - Syd's uncle, and thus.. not.. be ruins? I seem to be over thinking things. Posted on October 16th, 2013 at 01:24AMSheikah replied:
It's true that Syd's father's castle should have gone to the nearest relative, so I think that either he didn't have any relatives, or it's just a convenient plot device. Posted on October 16th, 2013 at 07:23AMMattxAus replied:
A convenient plot device used solely to kill off a new non-main character? That seems kind of unnecessary.Unless he's not dead.
And is actually this generations' antagonist/shadowy "puppet master" villain/super henchman, perceived as the real threat until the following season when everyone finds out he was infact just the lesser evil.
Or maybe he really is just dead and the plot served as a way to introduce the characters and their personalities before they hunt down the guy who sent them to their likely deaths. Posted on October 17th, 2013 at 02:27AM

Whoa, I think you guys missed some things from the first part of Katherine's story/flashback... http://aikoniacomic.com/page/161 Posted on October 17th, 2013 at 09:00AMFaenhir replied:
I, for one, love watching speculation run rampant :P Posted on October 20th, 2013 at 07:45AMMattxAus replied:
haha, wasnt trying to speculate so much Faenhir, i was just confused over that line about Gillius' papers leading them "out here", when "out here " was just ... outside, near the castle :|? so lost... :P Posted on October 22nd, 2013 at 01:04AMAndrew-David replied:
The story about them raiding the Gilius castle and being attacked by bug creatures was a flash back going over how they found some important papers. Those papers eventually lead them "out here," which is the woods, where they fought wolves. I'm not sure where you're lost exactly? Posted on October 22nd, 2013 at 04:39AMFaenhir said:

<< these avatars look like a "guest commenting" kind of stamp. Will we be able to have our own customoized mage avatars at some point?BTW love the 'click to reply' feature and the drop down box that remembers my name. Kudos! Posted on October 23rd, 2013 at 11:01PM
Andrew-David replied:
Thank you, Faenhir, I am glad that you like the new design :)Just so you know, though, the drop down that remembers your name is actually a default browser function, so I can't really take credit for that. Also, we will be replacing the default mage avatars by a small gallery of illustrated avatars representing a range of emotions (similar to the emoticon drop down system we had on the previous design).
Ira is still illustrating those, so I'll implement it as soon as they're done! :D Posted on October 24th, 2013 at 12:41PM

I like the new site design, but it seems to cut off the bottom panels of longer guest comics in the archives. Posted on October 24th, 2013 at 01:15PM ReplyAndrew-David replied:

Uh, is it just me, or is the new site design missing the comic? Posted on October 26th, 2013 at 12:13AM ReplyAndrew-David replied:
Hm, the comic seems to be showing up fine on our end. What browser are you using? Could we get some sort of screenshot? Posted on October 26th, 2013 at 04:01PMDarekun replied:
Ah, found it — the comic is not an image, but a background. I have custom colors set to get a light-on-dark scheme, because so many sites push an eye-searing white background… Hrm. Including this one. So I can't just whitelist this domain. Well, I'll have a go with Greasemonkey or something, nevermind… Posted on October 29th, 2013 at 01:01AMDarekun replied:
