Who says anyone is gonna die? The only reason Syd died in the first place was because he "Was Unworthy". Odd's are, Arwel probably is. But who knows, it's all part of the amazing mystery :D Posted on October 4th, 2011 at 09:59PM Reply

(first panel) generally, the term is "councilor" or "councillor", not "-er". Posted on October 4th, 2011 at 11:12PM Reply

Yeah, someone pointed that out on the previous page as well. We'll fix those and re-upload the pages sometime this week. Posted on October 5th, 2011 at 12:57AM

So... I can't spell at all, but I rely heavily on spell-check - which even now is telling me that both of those words are correct... which is strange... sorry about that. Posted on October 5th, 2011 at 09:58AM

Ack! Should be "discreet" in panel 6, not "discrete"!

Still, I'm very interested to see what they've been up to with poor Arwel. Let's hope no one asked to meet with him in the Cerulean Lab in a few minutes... Posted on October 5th, 2011 at 12:28AM Reply

Or, y'know, that Arwel hasn't been possessed or anything. That would suck. Posted on October 5th, 2011 at 12:29AM

Arwel had a brighter blue glow around him when 'Ariel' looked at him a few pages back..........maybe he's 'worthy' of whatever Ariel got, so he's being targeted......... (DUN DUN DUNNNNN)
By the way, I noticed on the Cast page, you labeled 'Race' above (or below) where it said whether they were Channeler, Caster or Binder. Does this mean there will be non-human beings later in the comic? Posted on October 5th, 2011 at 03:51AM Reply

Did you SEE Ariel in the last comic? I think the answer to that is a rather resounding "DUH".

At the very least, there will be demon-things. I would qualify that as another race. And Orcs, as we saw from that poster. Posted on October 5th, 2011 at 06:35AM

I think if given a kill-or-be-killed situation, Arwel could take Ariel. Barely. Posted on October 7th, 2011 at 11:50AM

Reynard-Miri replied:
Arwel is a Channeler. He'd need a Caster to make use of the huge amounts of mana he produces. (Unless something has changed with him.) Posted on October 8th, 2011 at 01:19AM

ShadowDragoonFTW replied:
A lot of people have speculated that Arwel is actually a Binder, hence his super-yummy-glowy-aura. So, it's possible. But demon-girl would win. Arwel is just a first-year student, after all. He knows nothing. :/ Posted on October 8th, 2011 at 10:44AM

Kjakings replied:
If you had read Trudi Canavan's The Black Magician series you would know to never underestimate the students or you will suffer.

I was under the impression that Channeling/Casting were simply the things that mages were most proficient in, and when they reached a certain level within the school they could choose to pursue either only their natural talent or have a go at 'dual-classing' it. I've been reading the character biographies and, from what I've seen from Syd and Cyril's, it seems to support my theory on Binders. Posted on October 8th, 2011 at 01:53PM

CorinaDee replied:
You should note that all the council members are binders. From what I understand, students are enrolled in either the casting OR channelling program at the Institute. After they complete their studies, they then get the option to study the other aspect of magic in order to become a binder. So for example, Syd studied casting for several years before pursuing channelling to become a binder and eventually a council member. Posted on October 8th, 2011 at 02:45PM

Shadowdragoonftw replied:
Intriguing. All this time I thought it was a naturally-born thing that you either did or didn't have the potential to be a Binder. Knowing that it's just a level-of-proficiency thing makes it a little more interesting. Posted on October 9th, 2011 at 04:42AM
