I don't think that Ariel is a bad person. But in http://www.aikoniacomic.com/page/22 Solaris says "It was I who brought you here!" and in http://www.aikoniacomic.com/page/16 Solaris seems to have summoned some kind of demon into Ariel's body. Before that, Ariel was a very nice person, but after that page, Ariel seems to have changed. Also, the previous Council Archmage, Tenora, treats Solaris, who was only a Council Mage back then, as if he was a trouble maker. Maybe Solaris is the bad guy and Ariel was only the victim? But maybe, Solaris realized his mistake, and tried to send the demon-Ariel back into Magicka, which is evident in http://www.aikoniacomic.com/page/57 and http://www.aikoniacomic.com/page/74 Posted on January 2nd, 2012 at 12:48AM ReplyYakyak replied:

Was about to say, the same exact thing. Though the one thing I'm wondering is how those people on the site's banner are going to play into the story if they even do at all. Posted on January 2nd, 2012 at 01:26AMAndrew-David replied:
@Ethan, they do. You'll see :) Posted on January 2nd, 2012 at 02:12AMPonyta replied:
I think maybe this moving of the portal in to the courtyard is to release magic creatures all over the place, which eventually spread farther than the academy? or whatever the place they're at is called. Possessed Ariel will be the ruler/commander of this new bunch of baddies. If I remember correctly, this comic is the story leading up to a game, so she'll probably be the big end boss. The people at the top of the site pages are probably the heroes that will defeat the evil monsters and save the world. That's what I'm thinking, at least. Posted on January 2nd, 2012 at 02:37AM

I find it interesting how all of the characters have last names, but none of the characters actually ever USE them. Posted on January 2nd, 2012 at 06:59AM ReplyAndrew-David replied:
How often do you use last names when talking to people?Maybe if you were writing your name or someone's name, but otherwise, most people just use first names. Posted on January 2nd, 2012 at 01:09PM

Charmander? Look at the wings. Based on the wingspan it's clearly a dragonite. Posted on January 2nd, 2012 at 10:31AMCurtisimo said:
Ah HAH! I've read through the entire comic!... All four panel seventysomething pages of it.
Work in progress comic is work in progress.
And, now that my comments may now reach the optical faceholes of people, I'll be a regular commenter.
And a little bit of a pest, but I dunno.
Did I say this comic was epic?
Because I shouldn't.
It's BETTER than epic.
Congrats to the artist, and props to the guy who came up with this.
And now, for anoyingly correct theories about the future.
I think that Whatshisface (the council guy who was thrown into the portal) tryed to use that... Whatchacallit... Lifestealing? On that young guy with the blond hair ( I know no names, sorry) because he wanted to summon forth raw magical energy into the real world. I think he used whatsherface ( pink hair demon girl) as a sort of test subject, to see if the raw magica would tear someone apart. If it worked, i think he planned to do the thing on himself to give himself supermagic. However, the magical energy manifested itself in the girls body, and is now possessing her.

I enjoy how you use much descriptiveness in your explanations of people. I also am interested in the prospect of Super Magic. Posted on January 5th, 2012 at 12:10AMAndrew-David replied:

I've been thinking that portal doesn't look like it's in too many pieces. How would you go about dismantling it? Do the seams of the pieces just disappear magically? Posted on January 5th, 2012 at 12:08AM ReplyBrian replied:
Well Tim would never reveal the secrets as Katie would probably just enact most of the dismantling offscreen, but looking at the portal, it would seem that most of the dismantling of the portal would consist in dismantling the very framework of the portal. So the process would probably begin at shutting down the portal. This could be somewhat dramatic as Solaris may or may not be on the verge of crossing back home, and he may be thwarted in the last second by this dismantling procedure but that is irrelevant. Next would be disassembling the framework into pieces, as surely that portal weighs quite a bit, and probably doesn't even fit through the door. However the issue of space is still unnecessary as Ariel already blasted a hole on the door which should in turn allow the portal to have enough space. Any more doors in the way can simply be torn down by Ariel, or as it has been noted, the portal is somewhat slim so just carrying it in a horizontal fashion would fix that.
Regardless, dismantling a stone framework portal for the sake of secrecy is rather simple. As it is pure stone, what a magus must first get is a sledgehammer to crush the framework to less cumbersome pieces. Then they carry the stones in their pockets to the courtyard in several trips back and forth under the pretense that their bowel movements have been disrupted by a sinister disease known as diarrhea. They would dump the bits into a big pile, then cover it up in a big blanket, but a reeeeaaaaally big blanket. So large even a snoop would give trying to lift the blasted thing that he/she would turn back. Then the stone framework is rebuilt in back-breaking labor, while the person that is in charge sits back and sips on a drink.
Once it is rebuilt, then they must seek out the person who initially built the portal, this being Solaris, as not even I know how this portal was built inthe first place. And that is when the world is saved, because Demon-Ariel just foiled her own plans.
TL;DR Don't disassemble the portal. It's like rebuilding it from scratch. And in this situation, only Solaris knows how to do it. Posted on January 7th, 2012 at 01:22AM

Plus, you'd need a Diamond Pickaxe to break all that obsidian. ;) Posted on January 7th, 2012 at 01:40AMAndrew-David replied:
Actually, Deimos and Callisto are the ones who built it. Posted on January 7th, 2012 at 04:50PMBrian replied:

Deimos: No, no, TIP IT.Callisto: I AM TIPPING IT.
Deimos: No, no, towards me. Upwards, no no less upwards.
Callisto: Wait, wait, stop pulling. It's wedged, NO STOP PULLING.
Ariel: You guys SUCK. *magic slams it through the door and 6 walls*
Deimos: ... Why didn't we think of that? Posted on January 7th, 2012 at 08:19PM
Brian replied:
Callisto: That's why.Deimos: In retrospect, blasting the fragile obsidian portal through several walls was a terrible idea.
Callisto: Now we can't cover it up, the portal's in pieces, and it's all--
*looks at Ariel for a minute*
Callisto: ...my fault. Posted on January 7th, 2012 at 11:33PM

I see it was a good idea asking about this as now I know how to not dismantle a one-piece dimensional gate.I doubt Solaris is going to be able to get back. His body has probably been mangled and/or possessed so much he would be unrecognizable. Posted on January 8th, 2012 at 01:15AM
Kjakings replied:
@Brian: Fragile? Obsidian's the strongest material in all of Minecraftia. Unless the walls are lined with diamond pickaxes it'll be fiiine. Posted on January 8th, 2012 at 09:59AM
