We've done a few changes to the site this week. We've combined the about and cast page into one page and cleaned it up a little. We also added the Links page to the navbar (and styled the links page a little) and moved the RSS link to the footer of the site.
Don't forget that you can vote for Aikonia on topwebcomics.com once a day!
We're also proud to announce that Aikonia is now on Google+! Let us know if you're interested in being invited to Google+ (if you don't already have an account) and we'll send you an invite! :)
Oh, also, you can now go to the next page (if there is a next page) simply by clicking the page. Should make it easier for you to read through the archived pages :)

Nothing much to announce this week. We'll be posting a guest strip on Wednesday, so make sure to keep an eye on the site! I'm also so overwhelmed with all the things that happened last week at E3 that I don't know what to put as interesting finds. The list is huge and I usually try to link to a maximum of three or four. It's so hard to pick! D:

This week was supposed to be a guest strip week. A lot of you contacted us to let us know that you'd be willing to draw a guest page, but unfortunately, only one of you actually sent us a page, and that's not enough to have a guest strip week :(
In other news, we made some changes to the site's paging system. They're now organized by chapters and you can see that on the archives page :)
We added three new members to the cast page! Go take a look! We also added some new sharing features at the bottom of the page. You can now easily share on StumbleUpon and Twitter!
Finally, don't forget that you can support us by donating! When that progress bar reaches $100, we'll release some new free goodies, and if you donate over $5, you receive an exclusive PDF that contains the sketches for the first thirty pages of the comic (drawn by Katie Tiedrich) and Cyril's report (the one he reported on page 7).

Hello everyone!
Page 42 marks the end of Chapter One! We were hoping to take a week off and just have guest strips during that whole week and continue with Chapter Two the week after, but unfortunately we couldn't find any artists who wanted to do guest strips :(
So instead, we'll just continue with our regular schedule next Monday.
We'll also be adding new cast members to the Cast page next week, so look forward to that!

EDIT: Looks like we might actually have a guest strip week next week! We'll be posting a new guest strip here each day of the week (6th to 12th of June). There will be more exposition and explanation as to how the school system works in a few pages, but until then, please make sure you re-read page 39 and 40 :)

This week, we've release the brand new advertisement system. I'm not going to talk about it too much here, but you can read more on our blog. We've also done some minor enhancements to MADSOFT Connect, including code optimization which makes the site load and function much faster.
We've got a few features planned for the Aikonia site, including a "contests" page which keeps track of all the previous, active, and upcoming contests, and a referral system which will be tied to MADSOFT Connect (earn achievements!). As soon as those two features are complete, we'll run another contest, so look forward to that! :)

Still not much to talk about this week. Although, we'd like to know what you'd like to see in a merchandise store if we were to open one. T-shirts? Buttons/Pins? Stickers? Prints? Anything! Just let us know!

We have a couple of things we want to talk to you about this week.

First off, we have merged the Aikonia blog with the MADSOFT Games, LLC. blog. We feel that moving all of our updates about our games and projects to one area will make it easier for everyone to keep track of our progress.

Also, as you may have noticed, we have made some changes around the website in our constant efforts to bring you the best experience possible. We have made some changes in the links in the navigation bar, the buttons and the design of the blurb, comments and archives. Let us know what you think in the comments below!

In super awesome sticky images news, we have made some stickers for everyone to enjoy. They feature characters from Aikonia, both alive and slightly less alive, as well as some of the more memorable panels from the comic. You can find out more about our plans for distributing the stickers here.

Finally, we must turn to a slightly more serious topic. We are aware that certain members of our community may frown upon our recent move towards increasing advertisements, but hear us out. In order to provide you with content on a weekly basis, we need funds. There is a lot of time and money put into this comic from our staff and any funds we receive through ads and donations go directly towards sustaining the site. We hope you will understand that we will never change the content of Aikonia; no advertisers will ever have sway over the plot in any way.

We bring this up now as we are planning on implementing a system for sponsors, advertisers or other companies to place their own ads directly in our ad spaces at the bottom of every page. We would love to hear your opinions on this.

And if you have the money to spare, please consider supporting us with your donations. We are overwhelmed with the enthusiasm exuded from this community and it can only grow from here.

Nothing much going on this week. We did a little server maintenance and did some changes to the donation system. It now immediately increases the progress bar after you donate and automatically emails you with links to the PDF files (if you donated more than $5). The next goodie is also ready for release, we're just waiting for that bar to hit $100! :)
We also added a new section to the blurb: "Interesting Finds". It's basically links to interesting/cool stuff we find through-out the week! It's right below this post, so check it out! Also, don't forget we added the links page! We'll feature your site on there if you feature ours on yours :)

We have quite a few announcements to make this week. First, I'd like to mention our brand new donation & goodies page! We added a progress bar on there that keeps track of the donations. And, as some of you have noticed, the "links" link in the footer has been there for a while, but never led anywhere, so I decided to finally build that page. We'd be glad to feature your site on there as long as you feature ours in return.
Finally, by popular demand, we replaced the "share on Digg" button by a StumbleUpon button at the bottom of the comic.

This week, I finally finished the PDF. It contains Cyril's original report (The one he reported to the council on page 7) along with Katie's original sketches for the first thirty pages of the comic. I'll be sending the winners a copy of the PDF, and everyone who donates $5 or more will be receiving a copy by email. It will be sent to the email that is associated to your Paypal account. If you would prefer otherwise, please let us know by messaging us through our contact form. We've also been getting a lot of work done on Project: Velyria and MADSOFT Connect. You can see a preview screenshot of Project: Velyria on the MADSOFT Connect forums right here! We'll post another screenshot as soon as the Project: Velyria Facebook page reaches 116 likes.

Hello everyone!
We've had a very hectic week! Working on MADSOFT Connect, Project: Velyria, and transferring Aikonia to our regular MADSOFT server.
We've been working really hard to make sure everything is perfect, so expect a lot from MADSOFT Connect really soon. Not only will we be releasing the achievement system, custom avatar system, and avatar shop, but you'll also be able to use your MADSOFT Connect account to comment on Aikonia and earn achievements!
We're also not sure if we'll do the progress bar idea we got for Aikonia. We're working on it, but Katie already works really hard on keeping up and drawing both our and her comic. So we're not sure if she'd be able to draw an extra Aikonia page per week, in case you DO fill the bar every week, without her burning out :/
We'll keep it on the back-burner and we'll see where it goes later on.

We've been super busy lately, mostly because of Project: Velyria and MADSOFT Connect, so unfortunately, the report and artwork/sketches PDF isn't ready yet. So, for those of you who won a copy of the PDF as a runner-up prize, we're sorry, we'll do our best to get it done this week :(
On the other hand, MADSOFT Connect, and the forums, are almost ready! We're just running a few final tests and doing some minor bug fixes! Expect it to be launched some time tomorrow, if not in a few hours! Keep an eye on the Facebook page and Twitter stream to be the first to get the latest updates! :)
